Graduate Orientation Thursday, August 28, 2014

Welcome to Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Please join us on Thursday, August 28, 2013 for Graduate Orientation. Your experience at Rutgers-Camden begins with orientation – a program for newly admitted graduate students. You will meet faculty, staff and students, and learn about all the exciting opportunities available to you. Attending orientation is an important step in making the transition to life as a Rutgers graduate student. Location: Multipurpose Room at the Rutgers-Camden Campus Center

Parking is available in campus lots 1, 2, 3, and 14.  No parking permit is required for this event.  Campus Map and Directions

Registration & Reception

3:30 – 4:30 p.m.

Check-in, enjoy the wine & cheese reception,and visit the Information Fair. Students may get photo I.D.’s taken at the Impact Booth.

4:30 – 5:00 p.m.

  • Dr. Kriste Lindenmeyer, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences
  • Dr. Rakesh Sambharya, Associate Dean of Graduate Programs, School of Business
  • Dr. Claudia Beckman, Associate Dean, Graduate and Professional Programs, School of Nursing
  • Mary Beth Daisey, Dean of Students and Associate Chancellor for Student Affairs will provide an overview of campus resources


5:00 – 6:00 p.m.

Over a complimentary dinner talk with faculty and current students from the MBA, DNP and Graduate School programs.

MBA Breakout Session

6:00 – 7:00 p.m.

The School of Business Associate Dean for Graduate Studies and staff will present an overview of the program and academic requirements and expectations.

Graduate School Policy Overview

6:00 – 6:10 p.m

The Associate Dean of the Graduate School and Graduate Student Services Coordinator review Graduate School policies, workshops, and events.

Arts and Sciences Programs Breakout Sessions

6:15 – 7:00 p.m.

Meet faculty graduate directors and other newly admitted graduate students from your program of admission. The faculty graduate directors will discuss program requirements and expectations.
