Please note that this event is for newly admitted students only and provides an opportunity to interact with fellow students and department faculty.  Due to the nature of this event we ask that you do not bring a guest with you.

Graduate Orientation Thursday, August 27, 2015

Welcome to Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Please join us on Thursday, August 27, 2015 for Graduate Orientation. Your experience at Rutgers-Camden begins with orientation – a program for newly admitted graduate students. You will meet faculty, staff and students, and learn about all the exciting opportunities available to you. Attending orientation is an important step in making the transition to life as a Rutgers graduate student. Location: Multipurpose Room at the Rutgers-Camden Campus Center

Parking is available in Lot C14.  Additional parking is available in Lots C1, C2, and the Camden County Parking Garage.  No permit is necessary to park in these lots.  If you choose to park in the parking garage, you should let the parking attendant know that you were attending orientation before you exit.

*Optional New Student Day of Service*8:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Learn more about your new community and donate your time and leadership skills to the Day of Service.  The program will begin with breakfast and follow with lunch. All students will be grouped with classmates as well as Orientation Leaders and Civic Scholars. Students will be transported to and from the service locations and will be provided with all necessary supplies. The program will take place rain or shine. Please indicate your interest in Day of Service on your registration form.  More information will be emailed out in early August. 

*Optional Campus Tours*3:30 – 4:00 p.m.

Join us before orientation for a tour of the campus.  Be sure to indicate your interest in a tour on your registration form. 

Registration & Reception4:00 – 5:00 p.m.

Check-in, enjoy the wine & cheese reception,and visit the Information Fair. Students may get photo I.D.’s taken at the Impact Booth.

  • Ms. Mary Beth Daisey, Dean of Students and Associate Chancellor for Student Affairs will provide an overview of campus resources
Dinner5:30 – 6:30 p.m.

Over a complimentary dinner talk with faculty and current students from the MBA and Graduate School programs.

MBA Breakout Session6:30 – 7:30 p.m.

The School of Business Associate Dean for Graduate Studies and staff will present an overview of the program and academic requirements and expectations.

Arts and Sciences Programs Breakout Sessions6:30 – 7:30 p.m

Meet faculty graduate directors and other newly admitted graduate students from your program of admission. The faculty graduate directors will discuss program requirements and expectations.
