Strong Finish to a GSO-Powered Year

Even gray skies couldn’t dim the spirit of the Graduate Student Organization (GSO) this spring. For the second year in a row, the annual hike through Wissahickon Valley Park unfolded under steady April rain—but that didn’t stop students from trekking the Philadelphia-area trails with good humor and even better company.

Just days later, the GSO teamed up with the Paul Robeson Library for a well-timed game night—a chance to reset and recharge before finals. From scenic hikes to study breaks, this year’s events continued the GSO tradition of building community across programs and creating moments that make the graduate school experience more connected and rewarding.

A huge thank-you to this year’s Executive Board for leading the charge:

What stood out most was how this group led with intention. These students didn’t just plan events—they created space for people to connect.

Assistant Dean Erick Watt-Udogu, Graduate Student Organization Advisor

Here’s to another year of showing up, reaching out, and making space for fun—even in the rain.
