Celebrating Another Year of Interdisciplinary Research

Biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, computer science, and data-driven research came together at the 2025 Annual Retreat to close the year by celebrating interdisciplinary work at the Center for Computational and Integrative Biology (CCIB). Faculty, graduate students, staff, and partners gathered to highlight collaborative research and graduate training that span disciplines and labs. Colleagues from across Rutgers–Camden, partners from the Coriell Institute, and campus leadership joined the day’s conversations, marking a year of collective progress.

The retreat also recognized achievements across the Center and invested in its future. Chancellor Antonio D. Tillis announced a $50,000 award in support of CCIB, with funding dedicated to student-focused initiatives. Julie Griepenburg received the CCIB Inspired Service Award, Team Banana Peel was recognized as the winner of the team-building challenge, and Xingyun Qi, Jingling Fu, and Hong Fang were awarded CCIB Stochastic Research Grants. Together, these moments reflected the collaborative culture, service, and innovative research that continue to shape CCIB’s interdisciplinary work.
