Limited grants are available from the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and the Graduate School to support graduate student research and travel to conferences. To complete an application, you will need the following materials, all included as part of the DocuSign process:
- An project statement/synopsis of the project
- A letter of faculty support
- Signatures from your faculty advisor and graduate program director
If you have already been accepted into the conference, we ask that you also send or attach proof of your acceptance to your application. This will greatly increase your chances of receiving grant money.
The application must be submitted prior to the conference or research being done. If awarded, this grant will be used to reimburse travel or research after it has occurred. Applicants should be aware that reimbursements for travel must follow university policies and procedures. Applicants should be aware that reimbursements for research must follow university policies and procedures and current COVID restrictions.
These grants are made possible through funds donated to the Arts and Sciences Academic Excellence Funds. Students may be asked to present their research or meet with donors on selected occasions.

Applicants who are awarded these funds must apply for consideration for the Graduate Research and Creative Works Symposium. This year, the event will take place during the week of April 17th, 2023.
