EMPA Alum, Youngest New Jersey State Legislator

At an age when most people are still finding their footing, Cody Miller was already serving in public office. Today, as the youngest member of the New Jersey Assembly and the first New Jersey legislator born in the 1990s, he brings a generational perspective to state government while maintaining a professional focus on education and community development.

An alumnus of the Master of Public Administration (MPA) program, Miller pairs his legislative responsibilities with higher education leadership as Director of Foundation and Alumni Relations at Rowan College of South Jersey, where his work centers on strengthening institutional support, alumni engagement, and educational access.

Committee Leadership in Higher Education, Oversight, & Technology Policy

In the Assembly, Miller serves on several committees, including Higher Education, Oversight, Reform and Federal Relations, and Science, Innovation, and Technology. Through this work, he contributes to policymaking that shapes New Jersey’s educational systems, strengthens institutional accountability, and supports innovation and technological advancement across the state.

Legislation Addressing Education, Housing, Public Safety, & Social Services

Since being sworn in, Miller has sponsored a broad range of legislation addressing education, social services, and public safety. His legislative efforts include measures to expand counseling services for children affected by domestic violence, promote cybersecurity education in high schools, support veterans through property tax deductions, and improve healthcare access and motor vehicle services.

Additional initiatives focus on tenant protections, affordable housing, consumer rights, public safety, senior citizen benefits, and support for volunteer emergency services, reflecting a legislative agenda grounded in access, protection, and community well-being.
