From Soil Ecology to STEM Leadership

My academic journey began with earning an MS in Biology in 2013, where I focused on soil ecology and nutrient cycling. After gaining experience in environmental research in the Pinelands and Delaware Bay, I joined Rutgers-Camden in 2019 to manage the Biology department teaching labs. In December 2022, I transitioned to CCIB and the Graduate School as the Senior Program Coordinator for STEM programs.

My primary responsibility is to assist students in STEM programs, ensuring they navigate graduate school successfully. I enjoy this role because it allows me to interact with STEM graduate students daily, helping to bring different programming and workshops to the Camden campus.

Empowering STEM Graduate Students

In my current role as Senior Program Coordinator for the Center for Computational and Integrative Biology and The Graduate School at Rutgers-Camden, I assist STEM graduate students in navigating their academic paths. I love interacting with students daily and bringing programming and workshops to the Camden campus. Collaborating with faculty in new programs like Data Science has been especially fulfilling, as I’ve supported the first cohort’s journey on campus.

Championing ‘Codes for Life’

I’m also the Program Coordinator for the NSF Research Training grant, ‘Codes for Life,’ which was awarded to CCIB Director Grace Brannigan. In this role, I am dedicated to supporting the Codes for Life program.
