Back & Ready to Elevate Graduate Student Success

The newest addition to the Rutgers Graduate School-Camden leadership team is no stranger to this campus. Mitch Larson, M.A., M.S.Ed., built the foundation of his academic and professional career right here, earning both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Criminal Justice at Rutgers-Camden before setting off to make an impact in higher education. His journey has taken him through roles in admissions, student engagement, and graduate student programming—first on this campus, then at the University of Pennsylvania, where he spent the past several years expanding student support initiatives at a university-wide level.

Now, Larson returns to Rutgers-Camden as Assistant Dean, bringing back the experience he gained at Penn, where he led large-scale orientation efforts, advised student organizations, and built programming that served more than 18,000 graduate and professional students. His expertise in graduate student engagement, digital outreach, and campus-wide collaboration makes him a valuable addition to the team. More than anything, he’s excited to be back at the place that first inspired his career, ready to create meaningful opportunities for the next generation of graduate students.
